WishBone Medical, Inc. Names Gary Barnett as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs
WishBone Medical, Inc., a new pediatric orthopedic company, announced that Gary Barnett has taken on the role of Vice President of Regulatory Affairs. Barnett will be responsible for leading all aspects of global regulatory affairs, implementation, and communication directly with global regulatory agencies. Gary will also provide guidance to new product development teams and collaborate closely with other WishBone Team Members to define the strategic direction of the organization and to drive business growth.
Mr. Barnett began his orthopedic career in 1983 as an industrial engineer. He progressed into product development, operations, project management, quality, and regulatory affairs. Gary is an inventor/co-inventor on seven orthopedic device patents. Gary’s previous experience also included regulatory and quality at another pediatric orthopedic company with Nick Deeter.
“Having worked with Gary in the past, we wanted Gary as part of the WishBone team,” said Nick Deeter, CEO of WishBone Medical, Inc. “Gary has submitted and received nine FDA clearances specifically for Pediatric Orthopedic devices. This makes Gary one of the top pediatric device 510(k) submitters in the US. And with our speed to market, we needed that level of expertise to keep up with our product development team.”
WishBone Medical was founded by Nick Deeter, a leader in Pediatric Orthopedics. WishBone is a Warsaw, Indiana based pediatric orthopedic company focused on the unmet needs of children suffering from orthopedic issues. WishBone’s commitment is to provide anatomically appropriate innovative implants and instruments in sterile packed, single use, disposable kits with an emphasis to minimize disease, prevent infection, reduce overall costs for our customers and to achieve the best outcomes for children who are still growing, because kids are not just little adults.
“Not only does Gary have the Pediatric Orthopedic background, Gary also has quality and regulatory experience with single-use, sterile-packed, disposable kits,” commented Mary Wetzel, COO of WishBone Medical. “The single use disposable kits are the key to global access of Pediatric medical devices. With all of Gary’s experience, we couldn’t be more pleased with bringing Gary on board.”
“I’m excited to get back into Pediatric Orthopedics once again,” said Gary Barnett, Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for WishBone Medical. “We have a real cause to treat kids with orthopedic issues and with our single-use disposable kits, we can do that worldwide.”
Gary holds an Industrial Technology degree and an MBA, both from Ball State University. Gary has two children, a daughter who is an optometry doctor in Wabash, Indiana, and a son who is an attorney in Chicago, Illinois.
