Your team aims to provide optimal treatment and care to every patient who needs it—when they need it. This is made possible when surgeons and supporting staff are equipped to work efficiently.
Designed to streamline a palatoplasty from start to finish, the WishBone Cleft Palate Convenience Kit comes sterile packed and provides most of the medical and surgical items needed for surgery. By eliminating the ‘scavenger hunt’ for various components, these convenience kits enable teams to devote time where it matters most.
A cleft palate occurs if the tissue that makes up the roof of the mouth does not join together completely during pregnancy. For some babies, both the front and back parts of the palate are open. For others, only part of the palate is open. 1
About 1 in every 1,700 babies is born with cleft palate in the United States. 2
Surgery to repair a cleft palate is recommended within the first 18 months of life or earlier if possible.3
Surgical repair can improve the look and appearance of a child’s face and might also improve breathing, hearing, and speech and language development. 4
